Racing, depending on which simulator you’re using, is fierce and you’re likely to run into both pros and amateurs that are serious competitors. Some simulators offer different types of series and the ability to race in multiple classes of vehicles, heightening its appeal. In the U.S., the National Hot Rod Association is the largest body that governs drag racing. There are multiple vehicle classes that range from lightly modified production vehicles up to dedicated dragsters with parachutes.

After 25 years away from the sport, former Formula 2 champion Jonathan Palmer reopened the F2 category again; most drivers have graduated from the Formula Palmer Audi series. The category is officially registered as the FIA Formula Two championship. Most rounds have two races and are support races to the FIA World Touring Car Championship. The other major international single-seater racing series is Formula 2 . Regional series include Super Formula and Formula V6 Asia , Formula Renault 3.5 , Formula Three, Formula Palmer Audi and Formula Atlantic.

Drag racing was organized as a sport by Wally Parks in the early 1950s through the National Hot Rod Association . Other major rally events include the British Rally Championship, Intercontinental Rally Challenge, African Rally Championship, Asia-Pacific Rally Championship, and endurance rally events like the Dakar Rally. The world's first all-female Formula racing team was created in 2006.

The activity opens the doors of some of racing’s most prestigious circuits to club members, with the whole on-track experience enriched by high-class hospitality, comfort and exclusive services. The Audi R8 LMS GT4 is a fast and reliable entry-level GT race car and is equally popular amongst amateur and gentleman drivers. Unlike other forms of car racing, rallying, or “stage” rallying, predominantly takes place on rough terrain like mud, sand, and dirt. Rallying also takes place throughout the entire year, so drivers have to race in the snow and rain, which results in some exciting racing. There are a few paved sections, but those are predominantly ways to connect off-road portions. Unlike the majority of other racing series in the world, Formula E is where all-electric race cars go head-to-head.
